Ok, finally Miss Efficient is able to post the results for 2008.

Just some numbers for ~~you~~ me to "WOW" about:

1) Throughout the year 2009, we have played a total of 88.75 rounds!!! Pardon the 0.75, it happened during the beginning of the year when we were not trained to 'tahan' the entire round. Muahaha...

And of course, the moment that everyone is waiting for..... *drum rolls*

The results for the winners/losers 龙虎榜 for 2008.

Winners
1) Siau Wei $80.85
2) Furu $60.00
3) Terence $55.55
4) Siew Hui $8.50*
4) Ermin $8.50*

As we can see, Siau Wei emerged as the biggest winner (though she kept complaining with her famous line "zhe shi shen me lai de?")...hahaha...

Furu is also quite a big winner with $60 of winnings to claim the 2nd position.

*Due to some reasons, I feel that we should exclude Siew Hui and Ermin from bearing a share for the treat.

Reason 1: Both of them won less than $10.
Reason 2: Ermin is history.
Reason 3: Siew Hui only joined for one session in 2008.

I think the results really prove one point: 十赌九输. Look at the number of winners and losers.

Ok, next up is the treat from the winners to the losers.

The calculation of the proportion to pay is as follows:

(Winning amt / Total winnings) x 100 = Percentage that winner has to pay for the treat.

As mentioned earlier, Ermin's and Siew Hui's winnings would not be included in the total, hence:

Total winnings: $80.85 + $60 + $55.55 = $196.40
Siau Wei: ($80.85 / $196.40) x 100 = 41%
Furu: ($60.00 / $196.40) x 100 = 31%
Terence: ($55.55 / $196.40) x 100 = 28%

So now we'll just have to wait for the voting period to end before we decide what the treat shall be!!!

Game for Winter Solstice Part (2)

This is the part 2, after Joseph and Aries have left (after winning our money!!!). A person's luck at a gambling table can never be predicted. After losing 50 over bucks from the previous 2 rounds, I managed to recover a little of the losses.

At the last game of the first round, Siau Wei "diao zhng-ed" 3 times, all are either 3 or 4 tais. Then at the beginning of the second round, I "diao zhng-ed" 4 times, everyone was complaining that we could be at 南风 if not for the "diao zhng-s".

There was a game where Sandra and Noelle had 2 kongs each and Siau Wei had 1. MTL has the rooster and centipede...imagine the number of times the $0.50 were transacted among us during that game. No pictures for that game though as Ms Sleepy Noelle had messed up her tiles before we can take pictures.

It was supposed to be a session which ends at 12+ but in the end, we finished the session at 6am. MJ Clan members are so devoted...(muahaha)

Soon, it will be time to compute the results for the biggest winner of 2008...stay tuned!!!

Long awaited MJ session...part 2

The part 2 began when Siau Wei arrived...with our dinner! Thanks babe!!
Actually it only began after dinner. The 4 rounds of MJ has its ups and downs. I went home to feed Ah Bui and Chilli Padi hence Terence kick-started the first round. I nearly fainted when I looked into the drawer after the first round. Left with a pathetic few bucks.

I went on to play the 2nd round. This round is like super wang4 for me, managed to recover 90% of the base. Terence went on to play the 3rd and 4th round and we managed to recover part of our losses for the past few sessions.

2008 is coming to an end. The result will be tallied soon and the winners will have to give a treat to the losers!!! Since it is unfair to have only the winner with the biggest amount of earnings to treat. The cost of the treat shall be divided proportionately based on their winnings. Mahjong Clan members, are you all agreeable to this???

Keke I salted fish flip body, only managed to kai hu in bei feng in the 1st round then managed to can get some super self touch 5 doubles in the 2nd round but also bao MR MTL $12.80 giving Furu and Sandra free game... At one point of the game when it was about to rain it gotten so dark that we couldn't see our tiles but noone wanted to swtich on the lights as it was si feng...Then MR MTL suggested that we could go switch on the lights carrying our chairs still on our butts therefore not leaving the game...

We had many new ideas yesterday on top of our list to compile(to stop people from saying I havent hu whatever combi the strike off from a list-havent created): to record our voices making funny standard sounds and reply when drawing our tiles and we all agreed that Ms Toh and Mr Tintin will have the most recordings to do as they have a great variety of sounds to use...

Ms Toh's irritating pet phrase: "What is this or Se Me Lai de"
and our standard reply "Mahjong tiles"

Well, this was quite a last minute decision for the game and Sandra made us wait again! She has offically taken over my title of 迟到天后.. Haha.

Frankly speaking I won quite a fair bit for the first round with my 2 consecutive 5 tais and constant 3 or 4 tais. Hee hee. *sheepish smile However, during the second round, Mr Terence was bent on recovering back his losses and diao zeng at least 5 times at 东风， with at least 2 times ping hu and a few eat pong gao. Until he break even, we tried so hard to made him loh zeng. One diao zeng made him cover back the $30 base he lost during the first round. Power! However, he lost part of them back to Sandra and I think me for a teeny bit la.

Poor elle's been a losing streak for the 2 rounds and tried hard to keep her survival. Lucky never lose too much.

Second round of the game was like going up and down the escalator. I was playing DS that time, but got news of the commotion. The round started with Alan bao Furu one 5 tais, and followed immediately by Alan self touching 5 tais, shortly after, poor Sandra bao Furu another 5 tais.

During the last round, Furu throw the bamboo for Alan to pong 9 cards, and Mdm Tan (aka ping hu queen) happily wanted Alan to self touch or Furu throw for him to win, so that she can have a free game. Kept complaining she lost alot of money... However, her words proved to be not trustworthy when at the very end while counting the chips she only lost 2 bucks! Hahaha... (Actually towards the end she got win one 4 tais (ping hu of coz))But even though, she din lose as much as what we perceived. Smokescreen people!

p.s: actually my evil boyfriend (aka Tintin Chan Mali Chan Tintin) is supposed to blog. But it took him forever!!

Ms Tan suggested the title for this post cos we started playing from 2am and we ended close to 6am. To add a little variety to our wordy mahjong blog, we have decided that to have some photos!!!

Ms Sandra's 门清自摸

The first spectacular tiles of the night. When Ms Sandra first got her tiles, she 暗咬 her 三花 (1) and she got the rooster, then subsequently she got the 蜈蚣, hence it's another 50 cents for the 'bite'. Ms Siau Wei was smart to guard her tiles but she managed to 门清自摸. If we are playing the unlimited version, she would have got 6 台.

门清自摸: $6.40 x 3 = $19.20
2 三花: $1.00 x 3 = $3.00
'Bite': $0.50 x 3 = $1.50

$23.70. That's what she earned for this round, but this is small case when you see the next photo.

Ms Noelle's super power tiles

4 animals: $1.00 x 3 = $3.00
2 'bites': $1.00 x 3 = $3.00
1 暗杠: $1.00 x 3 = $3.00

Despite that Ms Noelle didn't manage to win this round, she won $13.50 from all of us!!! That's better than gaming a 4 台 game can! And the culprit who dashed Ms Noelle's dream is Miss Siau Wei and she game a 平胡自摸 which cost us $3.20 each.

There's a little irony here, isn't it? Miss Noelle has so many flowers and animals but in the end the winning tiles are a set without any flowers or animals!!!

Anyway, the biggest losers for this round is Sandra and Alan cos we lost $4.50 + $3.20 = $7.70 each! That's even more expensive than paying a 5 台 game!!! Sigh...

Poor Alan is sick and still has to forsake his rest time to accompany us to play mahjong. To make things worse, his tiles are sick too!!! (Cos he did not have a single win throughout the entire round!!!) Don't worry, your luck will definitely be better once you are well. :)

Seems like Ms tan really wants to make it a point for mahjong meeting every saturday after she is being released from the devil's arms.

No mahjong this coming weekend though. Coz Elle has got something on.

So as you can see, current big winner Sandra is not around this week, as she had gone Genting for even bigger winnings. Haha.

I wonder since when have we set the 理所当然 rule of winner get the responsibility to blog. So 可怜。Undertaking the risk of treating the feast end of the year, and still must take the job for blogging. (Luckily the one leading now is not me)

Alrighty people, here is my very first contribution to our beloved mj blog! As said, I will tabulate the result till date so as to facilitate end of the year's accounts. Well, the winning and losing made me almost bonkers. Thanks to Sandra with UNBALANCED accounts for that session we had during CNY. I vaguely remembered that session was far too complicated. With blackjack and si-ki-pit involved. Perhaps explains the wrong amount.

Well well, it's another semester over for me and Ms Noelle...and we embrace the 3 month slong holidays with open arms. More mahjong yay yay yay!!!

As all of you can see, this time round the account is very simple. Gordon played for the first 2 rounds, only to break even...lol...

Subsequently, Siau Wei and Alan split to play the next 0.5 round. This 0.5 round is really 风云变色. I won 6 bucks after the 1st round, but the 0.5 round, I won 13!!! Siau Wei even had 小四喜!!!

This is really an impromptu session. Happened that Siau Wei was asking if Elle wanted to play mahjong but because Elle had planned to do her assignment, the session did not materialise.

I sms Elle subsequently to ask if there is any mahjong session (hands itchy, bo bian)and since already got kakis, might as well play lor. As the saying goes, 相请不如偶遇.

We all need a little exercise there and then, don't we? :)

The first game of the year with super lucky elle winning... Mostly due to pure luck compared to skill, sorry kakis....Most winnings gathered during the last round which Ms Toh regrets playing, at the end of the 2nd round elle, ru and gordon won around $2-3 plus each only. At the last round, elle 自模 3 四番 and 1五番 and got serious warnings from the rest...

P.S. Gordon says he should not have change seats during the last round...ooopz me bad again coz I wanted to 敲脚.
